Baseball team in Topeka, Kansas

This photograph from 1913 is a panoramic view of the Topeka Kaws, a minor league team in the Class A Western League. The Kaws finished the season with a record of 73-92, which ranked seventh in the final league standings. The players and their positions are identified from left to right: Dale Gear, manager; William Fullerton (p); Earl McCullough (p); Otis Peebles (p); Bill Rapps (1b); Josh Billings (c); Polly McLarry (rf); Pat McGehee (p); Gene Cocreham (p); Jack Richardson (p); Cy Forsythe (c); Ross "Doc" Reynolds (p); Cliff "Pat" Dulin (3b); George Cochran (2b); Earl "Red" Snapp (3b); Ches Crist (c); Joe French (ss); Fred Ollom (2b); Allen Lee (lf); Hal Rustenhaven (p); Edward "Pep" Hornsby (p). The man seated in the grandstand behind the players is unidentified. The photograph was made by Spicer and Bumbarger in early April of 1913, prior to the start of the Western League season.
