This volume of correspondence and abstracts from the United States Office of Indian Affairs, Central Superintendency, St. Louis, Missouri, relates to the provisioning of emigrating Ottawas and Shawnees. Shawnee Indians were removed from the Wapakoneta, Ohio area and forced to move west. Ottawas were also removed from their land in Ohio and many ended up on reservations in Kansas. Included in this volume are muster rolls of emigrating Shawnee and Ottawa Indians listed by names of head of families.
