This is a cabinet card showing Jason Clarke Swayze. Jason came to Topeka in 1873 and started the Topeka Blade which later became the Topeka State Journal. He married Kate Edwards and they had three children Julia Harriet, Annie Laurie and Oscar Kepler. Kate died in May 1862. Jason later married Jennie Erwin and they had two sons Horce Greeley Swayze and J. Clarke Swayze, Jr. Jason Swayze was murdered on the streets of Topeka on March 27, 1877.
