This is a cabinet card showing William Jennings Bryan and labeled our next president. Bryan ran unsuccessfully for United States President in 1896, 1900 and 1908 as a member of the Democratic Party. In the 1896 campaign, Bryan gave over 500 speeches and is credited with starting the national stumping tour. He served two terms as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Nebraska and was United States Secretary of State under President Woodrow Wilson (1913-1915), resigning because of his pacifist position on World War I.
