This is a letter written by Judge J.C. Ruppenthal of Russell, Kansas addressing the misplacement of a map from a map contest he organized between the years 1907 to 1914 in his 23rd judicial district. The maps were to meet a "requirement of presenting historical data, together with excellence and accuracy of drawing." The map referred to in the letter is of Wallace County, Township 15 South, Range 42 West, from Axel Lindberg, and is Kansas Memory Item 309727.
